If you are one of those who are suffering from plantar fasciitis, you must be looking at ways of reducing pain in the arch of the foot. Here are a few things you can do to ease the pain.

Warm Water

Soaking your feet in warm water for at least 30 minutes every day will also help in improving the condition of your feet. You can also mix Epson salt in warm water as it will help in reducing inflammation.

Ice

You can use ice to reduce the swelling and pain in the arch of your feet. Apply ice directly on your feet may not be easy, so you can use ice pack to reduce pain. If you don’t have ice pack at home, you can also soak your feet in bucket of ice water to alleviate pain. You can increase the concentration of cold on the arch, you can use frozen water bottles. When freezing the bottle, it is a good idea to empty the bottle a little as the bottle may swell and burst when you freeze it.

Tennis Ball

People, who are suffering from plantar fasciitis, can use tennis balls to massage their feet. You can place the tennis ball on the floor and put the arch of the foot on the tennis ball. You must move the arch over the ball and massage the area until the pain subsides.

Slippers

It is important that you avoid walking barefoot as it will increase the pain. When you don’t wear slippers at home, the arch of your foot does not get any support and the pain increases. Therefore it is important that you wear slippers to provide the cushioning and support required by your feet.
